Hi! I’m Jim Behymer. I’m a middle-aged father of 3, a senior systems engineer working in Incident Response, and mostly pretty ordinary.
In 2014 some friends of mine and I started a website called Sandwich Tribunal with the goal of eating every sandwich listed on the Wikipedia List of Sandwiches and writing about them. My friends still pop in and write about a sandwich from time to time, but for the most part these days, Sandwich Tribunal is all me. I finished the first alphabetical run through the Wikipedia List of Sandwiches in 2020, then started another to hit the sandwiches I missed the first time around, as well as new sandwiches I’d learned about that weren’t on the List of Sandwiches. In December of 2020 I finished that second run and I’m now on a third round through the alphabet, writing about new sandwiches I’ve discovered along the way. The goal has changed and has little to do with Wikipedia these days–I want to eat *every* sandwich.
In 2022 I also started doing some freelance writing and posting short videos about sandwiches on TikTok. I’ve been writing about sandwiches for years, but the videos on TikTok have gotten more attention in the past year than I have seen in 8 years of writing. The writing is still the real work, but the videos are fun too, and I’ll keep doing them as long as they continue to be.
